Book Review- The Hobbit, or There and Back Again

Heya Humans!!!!!!!!!!!!
So yeah I haven’t posted in long (so much school work)
Anyways, I’m back again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*dramatic pause, then continues*

So, I finally finished this book after ages.

And I tried to click a good picture, but yeah, photography is NOT my strong point…………
Or aesthetic sense…………….

I don’t get why they change book covers to movie scenes, I mean the book was written before WAY BEFORE

In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.
Written for J.R.R. Tolkien’s own children, The Hobbit met with instant critical acclaim when it was first published in 1937. Now recognized as a timeless classic, this introduction to the hobbit Bilbo Baggins, the wizard Gandalf, Gollum, and the spectacular world of Middle-earth recounts of the adventures of a reluctant hero, a powerful and dangerous ring, and the cruel dragon Smaug the Magnificent.

My Views

“There is nothing like looking, if you want to find something. You certainly usually find something, if you look, but it is not always quite the something you were after.”

J. R. R. Tolkien

So yeah it took me A LOT of time to get to this, I started reading this book tons of times but dropped it after 2 pages, when I finally got the paperback in May (the book is interesting it’s just tons of work so yeah), I took soo many days to read it and finish it, so the book was quite slow, especially the starting, there wasn’t much happening?
Like there were quite a few moments when you couldn’t drop it, but most of the time, it just went on and on describing Bilbo’s pain and worry and anguish……………..
Overall it was fun, but there was a lack of female characters?

And yes I did mistakenly squash that flower

The glorifying moment when the dragon dies, ( I actually believed Bard was dead and closed the book down and then sulked for a minute or two, then opened and read the next page and I was MAD to say the least……………………………………………….

This was the best part of the entire book!!!!!!!!! (the death of the dragon not the fight or Bard going down and all)

My rating 4 stars.
