Top Ten Tuesday- Reasons Why I Love Reading

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
You can check out the topics here.

This week’s topic is “Reasons Why I Love Reading”.

Disclaimer- A huge rant ahead (ok not so huge but still it was really huge in my mind).

SO I JUST ASKED MYSELF WHY DO I LOVE READING?
And then I came up with some passible answers………….

·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚Imagination and improve our writing skills ˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙

So I was stuck and I thought I would add this too.
Books broaden our imagination and improve our writing skills (the reason why so many authors are voracious readers and why most readers wish to be an author).

#9

·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚They improve our vocabulary and increase our hold on grammar˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙

So yeah this isn’t a huge thing I wish to accomplish as my English is perfectly fine (when I want it to be or when I am not ranting) but I have realized that the reason it’s fine is because I read so much.
And my teachers do encourage us to read to increase our vocabulary, but my mom says read less books (the confusion people who do I listen too? (and my mom herself reads a lot talk about hypocrisy people😑🙄)).

#8

·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚ We learn more about life ˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙

We face reality through books we go through so much crisis, pain, we get hurt because we are betrayed and if the author is super good then we are the character itself so we face the world as them in their super messed up lives. We learn life and how to live it through books (literally the self help books exist so yeah).

#7

·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚They influence you˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙

The books influence our daily lives they way we act and there are some life changing things in books that inspire us to be better and the quotes leave a deep impact in us.
Some anecdotes teach us reality and change our perspective.
Books make us believe in ourselves. And then comes Dumbledore, come on even though I hate him so much I can’t deny that his quotes haven’t inspired me and the words of truth that soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many characters utter are legendary.

#6

·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚Stress relievers˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙

Um yeah books are good stress relievers because of them we explore so many things when reading we realize that we can be just as strong as the heroes in books and while reading we achieve numerous goals achieve submits imagining ourselves as the character that we don’t remember our world we forget our problems and are happier. *While writing this purposely does not mention the pain we face after a character dies*.

#5

·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚We make friends˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙

Books are our friends who don’t desert us (though the mean authors kill characters).
And through books we meet more bookworms, readers, people exactly like us with the same mental disorder, people whom we can relate too, people who realize the stupidity of our world and really deeply get us…….

#4

·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚You live more than one life˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙

As George R R Martin said a reader lives a thousand lives, so yeah we experience many lives many POVs. We readers suffer cancer, are demigods and we fight Voldemort. We live the lives of so many people that I could fill a book writing their names so moving on.

#3

·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚A break from reality˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙

I mean truth to be told our world is horrid and there are real people like Umbridge so we need people like Peeves and The Weasley Twins to save us from them. These bookish world’s they aren’t life, they are better than it because life is a cold shower on a chilly morning….
And we need a break from it, like ALL THE TIME and books give us that.

#2

·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚We learn a lot˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙

We learn so many things, different facts, values, how to get ourselves out of sticky situations and what to do if your teacher hides Voldemort at the back of his turban (what it could happen you never know).

#1

·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚We do things we would never do in real life˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙

I mean lets get real, we won’t possibly get a chance to kiss the boy whom we like when the world is falling apart, or no one will jump down into Tartarus with us.
Books give us a chance to fly, travel even when we are stuck in our homes.

  1. I totally agree with every point you made on this post!! Books are amazing, life-changing, and great stress-relievers. Aaalso it’s super helpful to know what to do if your teacher is hiding Voldemort on the back of their head. VERY helpful.

  2. Books are so therapeutic…Whenever I read enlightening books the words just keep echoing in my head and books help us in distracting ourselves from all the stress n messed up routine too!!
    The points were hella relatable.
