Hey people, so recently I read this series and it’s so good!!
Atleast good enough for lazy me to come out of my hiatus to post about it :D!

Hexing the Ex

Phoebe doesn’t believe in magic, but unfortunately magic believes in her. A mysterious statuette is sent to her boss, Archibald Kane, and she accidentally triggers a curse meant for him. Naturally, the first person she curses is her ex-boyfriend. But why would anyone want to curse her boss, a perfectly ordinary antiques dealer? Or is he?

Phoebe sets out to break the curse with the help of her new housemates. But it isn’t easy trying to solve a mystery she doesn’t even believe is real. Then again, that hellhound chasing her seemed pretty solid… Maybe there’s more to magic than hexing one’s ex.

My Views

I clicked this cause I loved the cover and now I am in love with the book too!! I t is such a beautiful book, the way the author describes each scene perfectly and how easy it is to imagine yourself in the scene and the writing style is just AWESOME! Any fan of magical books will love this!! And the way the story builds up is just surprising and fun and you can’t stop reading it once you get started! A perfect 5 star read!

Saved by the Spell

Summary- A chance encounter with a charming stranger makes Phoebe dream of a happily-ever-after, until she learns that there’s a spell on her that makes her repulsive to men. Luckily her boss, Archibald Kane, and her new landladies are experts on magic. Only this one seems to confound them all.
Phoebe doesn’t mind the space men give her in the Tube, but her cousin’s engagement party is coming up. How is she to celebrate, if she makes half the guests nauseated? And how is she to charm the man of her dreams when she suspects he’s part of the problem?

It might take the Archmage to break the spell—if only they could find him. A spell may be needed to save them both.

My Views

Execution of the plot-PERFECT!
Cover-Awesome! (though I liked the cover of the first one more)
One of the best books I have ever read!!
And now I REALLY REALLY can’t wait for the next one!

About the author

Susanna Shore is a pen name of a Finnish author Anu Keinänen. She was born in 1974 in Rauma, a small historical town on the southwestern coast of Finland. She grew up with books and music, but it was her love for history that took her to Turku to study a master’s degree in history at the University of Turku. She graduated in 1999 and began to work on her PhD dissertation, which will likely never be finished due to both lack of funding and time.

Susanna has always loved stories. She wrote her first story when she could barely hold a pen—an exotic account inspired by pictures she cut out of holiday brochures—and writing remained her favourite topic throughout the school. While she was working on her PhD dissertation she began to write fiction in earnest. She chose to write in English instead of her native Finnish in order to learn to express herself well with it. At first, she wrote for her own enjoyment, but in 2012 she discovered Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing and the opportunities self-publishing offered. Selecting a pen name Susanna Shore, a combination of one of her given names and a translation of her grandmother’s maiden name, she published her first book, The Wolf’s Call, in June 2012.

Since publishing her first book, Susanna has been busy writing full time. She has published one to three books a year, over twenty books to date. She writes Two-Natured London paranormal romance series, P.I. Tracy Hayes series of funny mysteries, standalone romances and thrillers. On top of that she writes whatever else happens to take her fancy, an occasional short story included. You can read those for free on her website.

Susanna still lives in Turku with her husband of over twenty years. They don’t have the compulsory writer’s cat. Instead, they have a small sailing boat that carries them to nautical adventures every summer.
